Charlie Keetley: # 74 MOT 100 Greatest LUFC Players Ever

Charlie Keetley (1927-1934)

Born 1906, he was the youngest of ten football-playing brothers. Joined LUFC in 1927 and initially understudied Tom Jennings, from whom he learned a lot. So much so that he scored 7 goals in a Reserve game and finally took over from his mentor. His record of 169 games and 110 goals is testament to his outstanding goal-scoring ability which resulted in him being picked as a reserve for the Football League in 1932. He left for Bradford City in 1934.
