Russell Wainscoat (1925-1931)

Born 1898, Russell joined Barnsley in 1920, before moving to Middlesbrough in 1923, and on to LUFC in 1925. Scorer of 93 goals in 226 games he gained England International status and was recognised as one of the finest Inside-Left's of his day. After leaving LUFC in 1932, he won a Third Division North Championship medal with Hull City.
