1918-1919 (Leeds City War-time Guest Player Details)

Right Half

Born: Nottingham: 05-02-1887

Debut: v Lincoln City (a): 19-10-1918

Height & Weight: Unknown

He started with Lincoln Liberal Club, joining Lincoln City in 1907 and he played five League games for them before moving into Non-League football. He played with Worksop Town, Grantham Avenue, Mansfield Mechanics and Grantham before returning to Lincoln City in 1914. He did not play a League game for them but like many players, he played for a team who were short of men due to the unavailability of reliable transport during WW1. It seems the logical explanation as to why he played his one game for Leeds City at Lincoln in 1918. After the War he signed for Barnsley in 1919 but failed to make a League appearance for them. He left for Non-League football with Llanelly and Grantham but was probably better known as a Cricketer and played for Lincolnshire in the Minor Counties from 1911 until 1926. He died in Lincoln on 4th January 1961.
