Leeds-born Morris was a highly rated schoolboy and represented Leeds Schools. He was signed by Second Division Leeds City in October 1905, but he did not quite make the grade at the professional level but still put together ten consecutive League appearances, as he deputized for Harry Stringfellow at Centre Half but disappeared from the professional scene after that.
