Little is known about Arthur Howe, other than he was believed to be from Yeadon and only played two games for Leeds United. He made his debut at Left Half in the game with Sunderland at Roker Park in a 1-5 defeat in the 1944-45 Football League Northern Section (First Championship) and he also played his other game, also at Left Half, in the same campaign in the home game with Newcastle United in a 2-1 win. " A local lad who came from the Wharfedale district, where he had been playing for the works team DP&E (Otley). He was a regular member of the Leeds United Reserves side in the 1944-45 season, but then disappeared completely from the scene." (Information kindly supplied by Neil Roche). It is not thought that Howe played professionally in the Football League.
