Little is known about Herbert Padgett. He was on the books of Sheffield Wednesday during the War Years, playing four games for them in the 1941-42 season. He only played one game for Leeds United in the 1943-44 Football League Northern Section (First Championship) at Inside Right on 11th September 1943 in a 1-5 defeat by Bradford City at Elland Road. It is not thought that Padgett played professionally in the Football League.
