Little is known about Kenneth Sharples. He played one game for Leeds United in the 1944-45 Football League Northern Section (First Championship). He played at Outside Right on 2nd September 1944 in the second game of the season in a 3-3 draw with Bradford Park Avenue at Elland Road. "Sharples played in the Leeds United pre-season public practice match, just two weeks earlier than his debut. He played as an inside forward. It was reported in the Yorkshire Evening News as being a Blackpool player. However there is no record of him ever playing for Blackpool, either before, during or after the Second World War. (Information kindly supplied by Neil Roche). It is not thought that Sharples played professionally in the Football League.
