Peart’s career started with Scottish club Glasgow Strathclyde and he was only nineteen when he joined Bradford City in June 1909. He had four years at Valley Parade but although he managed thirteen League games and one F.A. Cup tie, he spent most of his time in the Reserves. He joined Second Division Leeds City in September 1913 but it was more reserve team football as he operated as understudy to John Hampson, only playing seven League games and one F.A. Cup match in his two year stay, which ended with him moving to Blyth Spartans in 1915.
